Kasadya-an ‘06: Best yet from FU

It just keeps getting better and better.

Foundation University’s Kasadya-an Festival ‘06 held Dec. 14 to 16 was praised by members of the University community, and by the public as one of the best Kasadya-an festivals in years.

The staging of the Hara sa FU ‘07 Talent Night & Coronation Night to the Gabi ng Pasundayag and, finally, the Kasadya-an Parada was widely acclaimed as the best yet presentations done by Foundation University.

“This year’s theme, Philippine Legends, added to the color, glitter, and glamour of the various presentations made by the colleges and units. The competitive spirit among the students added to the quality of the presentations,” said Jo-dan Darong, FU Student Council president.

He added that the long hours of preparation and the proper organization of the various committees were the main reasons for the success of the festival.

Competetition Results

Hara sa FU ‘07 Freshlyn R. Saga, Hospitality Management; 1st runner-up Starshell C. Gimeno, Nursing; 2nd runner-up Leslie A. Quilapquilap, High School.

Gabi ng Pasundayag Most Outstanding Performing Group went to the School of Industrial Engineering & Technology’s “Legend of Canlaon”; 1st runner-up was the “Legend of Amio (Sta. Catalina) of the College of Education; and 2nd runner-up was the High School’s “Legend of the Watermelon”.

Kasadya-an Parada top plum winner was High School’s “Legend of the Watermelon”; with 1st runner-up garnered by the freshmen and sophomores of the College of Business, Economics & Accountancy’s Bul-ul; and 2nd runner-up was CBEA’s “Legend of the Rainbow” composed of Junior Finance Executives and the Management student-groups.

The Booth Competition was won by the work-study students’ Root Society; 1st runner-up was the Hospitality Management; and 2nd runner-up was the College of Arts & Sciences Guild.

The CAS won the Inter-Department Christmas Decoration contest, followed by the University Grade School, and the College of Nursing.

For the Inter-Office Christmas Decoration contest, the University Main Library, SPEED-BAC, and the University Clinic garnered first, second and third prizes, respectively.
