To help school administrators and the University Disaster Management Committee to design a specific response plan of the school during emergencies.
Drill Preparations
Allot a specific time for awareness, lecture on earthquakes and fire, what it is, how and why they occur, what to do before, during, and after. Familiarization with the floor plan of the building they are in. Identify safe spots, danger zones, emergency evacuation routes, open spaces and temporary refuge. Assign somebody who will be in charge of making sure that the door is open during the shaking.
Specific Instructions On What To Do During A Shaking

PHASES OF THE DRILL
Phase 1. Alarm

While the siren/bell is ongoing, EVERYONE should move away from the windows, glass, or light fixtures. In this phase, EVERYONE should perform DUCK, COVER, and HOLD under desks, tables, or chairs. REMAIN in this position until the shaking stops.
Phase 3. Evacuation
Once the shaking stops, occupants should evacuate the the building and proceed using pre-determined routes to go to identified evacuation areas.
Phase 4. Assembly
At the designated evacuation areas, all occupants of the building shall be grouped accordingly.
Phase 5. Head Count
Teachers/Heads should check and make sure that students/employees are accounted for.
Phase 6. Evaluation
An evaluation of the drill must be conducted to identify problems encountered during the drill and how this can be corrected in future drills.
