Korean school – FU to ink MOA

School officials of Munhyun Girls’ High School in Busan, South Korea are scheduled to visit Foundation University and meet with members of the FU administration on Jan. 23 to formalize a Memorandum of Agreement between the two schools for a sister-school program.

The officials of Munhyun Girls’ High School, led by Prinicipal Jung Tae Yul, Prof. Lee Won Go, and Prof. Kim Tong Gyun, are scheduled to meet with FU President Dr. Mira D. Sinco and FU Grade School/ High School Supt. Melvin Van Stone, to sign the MOA that will enable both schools to promote and develop cooperation in educational programs and cultural exchanges.

Under the agreement, both schools agree to hold joint English classes through the Internet, accept high school students to be sent for Overseas Community Service, exposure/field trips and Home Stay programs, work collaboratively on the development and promotion of an Information Technology program including communication technology, and work to organize and conduct a series of workshops for teachers on various relevant topics.

During the visit, the Munhyun officials will also meet with the FU High School English faculty, the English Club student officers, and with FU Data Center head Joel Balajadia to spell out details of their plan. Balajadia will be in – charge of the joint English classes to be held through the Internet –based voice and video Skype program. The Korean educators will also meet with the local media in a press onference on Jan.25 at 10:30am at the Lawak Kauswagan.
