FU inks sisterhood with Korean school

Foundation University inked yet another Sisterhood School program with Yeongdong University in South Korea.  Signing the Memorandum of Understanding were FU President Dr. Mira D. Sinco and Yeongdong University President Chae Hun Gwan.

The signing at the Dumaguete City Session Hall was witnessed by officials of the Yeongdong delegation led by Mayor Jeong Gu Bok of Yeongdong County, Education Office President Jung Ku Sok, chief of the Local Autonomy Jung Sung Sig, public official in charge of the Sistership affair Jeong Mi Sook, and Jeong Woo Yung from the private sector.

The sisterhood program between FU and Yeongdong University includes the offering by FU of a four-week English as a Second Language program for selected students from Korea during the summer (June) and winter (January) breaks.

The tie-up between both schools also includes an exchange student program and cultural exposure trips.

Yeongdong University intends to send its first group of students for the ESL program in FU in January 2009.

This Sisterhood School program is FU’s third with schools in South Korea.  The others two are with Kyungsung University, and Myunhun Girls’ High School, both in Busan.
