Admission
All incoming freshmen must take the College English Proficiency Test (CEPT) and the College Mathematics Proficiency Test (CMPT). All institutional policy of the University regarding transfer students applies for those who intend to enroll in BS in Agriculture. For incoming sophomore, if his/her grade in English/Math is below 80%, he/she is required to take the College entrance exam in English/Math. For incoming Junior or senior student, he or she must take a validating exam in the core and major subjects to be credited (To be administered by the College). All subjects must have the same number of units and course description. The student’s grade must not be less than 2.5 or its equivalent to be considered for crediting.
It is an institutional policy of Foundation University to require all students admitted to show serious interest in their studies and maintain satisfactory academic performance and scholastic records. Agriculture students are required to maintain a grade point average of not less than 2.5. Students who failed to do so are subject to the underlying policy as set forth by the Technical Panel on Agricultural Education (TPAE).
1. Warning – A student who obtains final grades below 2.5 in 25% to 49% of the total number of academic units (core and major subjects only) shall receive a warning from the Dean to Probation.
2. Probation – A student who obtains final grades below 2.5 in 50% to 74% of the total number of academic units (core and major subjects only) shall be placed in probation for the succeeding semester. His load shall be limited to the extent and be determined by the Dean. Probation may be removed by passing with grades 2.5 or better in more than 50% of the units in the succeeding semester.
3. Dismissal – Any student who at the end of the semester gets a final grade below 2.5 in more than 75% but less than 100% of the total number of academic units (core and major subjects only) shall also be dropped from the rolls of the College. Any student who on probation again fails 50% or more of the total number of units shall also be dropped from the rolls of the College.
4. Permanent disqualification – Any student who gets a grade in 100% of the total academic units (core and major subjects only) shall be permanently barred from readmission if those grades are due to poor scholarship.
