History of the College of Hospitality Management
As early as May 2004, the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management with majors in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Tourism Management was given a go signal for its offering in the first semester of academic year 2004-2005.
In academic year 2006-2007, HOSM Program with majors in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Tourism Management were given full recognition by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Consequently, Technical Education Skills and Development Agency (TESDA) approved ladderized education program paving the way to giving opportunities and certification of the skills and competencies earned by the students in each area of specializations.
In academic year 2007-2008, Foundation University produced the first graduates of the Associate in Hospitality Management, Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management major in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management major in Tourism Management.
College of Hospitality Management Objectives:
The HOSM program aims to provide adequate professional training in the fields of tourism, hotel and restaurant and hospitality management. It is committed to the thrust of the Philippine government towards honing Filipino Citizens to be at the forefront of economic prosperity and global development.
Specifically, the objectives of the College are:
1. To equip the students with the competencies (knowledge, skills, and attitude) necessary to perform work activities effectively and efficiently to the standards expected in the operation required in the hospitality and tourism industry
2. To inculcate in the students the essential principles and modern practices to manage and operate effectively, efficiently and profitably, the different enterprises in the various sectors comprising the tourism and hospitality industry
3. To produce quality and competent Tourism and HRM graduates who are responsive and mindful of the ever-changing landscape within which the tourism and hospitality sector operates
4. To prepare students for creative and innovative entrepreneural endeavors.
