The United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary (UAPSA), the main and duly-recognized student organization of the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP), held its 2011 UAPSA AREA C GENERAL ASSEMBLY last October 20-22, 2011 at San Remegio Resort and Beach Club, Cebu. The assembly was open to all UAPSA AREA C members, representing diverse architectural schools from greater Visayas area.
UAPSA-FU Chapter, being a new member of this prestigious organization, was invited to participate in this significant event. A wide range of activities were thoroughly planned and organized such as seminar workshops that aim to teach student delegates with knowledge and expertise. Furthermore, several competitions were held such as “Ultimate Historical Filipino Design and Rendering Competition”, “Rendering Competition in Watercolor, Colored Pencils, Color Markers, Pen and Ink, and Pencil”, “Structure-Making Contest”, “ARKI Quiz-Bee”, “Napkin Sketch”, and Photography.
Fifteen (15) UAPSA-Foundation University Chapter Officers and Members participated in the event. UAPSA-FU Chapter was awarded as Mid-Year BEST CHAPTER in District C-2 which is composed of Aklan State University, Capiz State University, University of Antique, La Consolacion College-Bacolod, Western Visayas School of Science and Technology, University of San Agustin-Iloilo and Foundation University.
Below are other awards garnered by the enthusiastic and active delegates in the various competitions comprising of two hundred (200) delegates from more than ten (10) architecture schools in the Visayas area.
First place - Pen and Ink Rendering awarded to John Steve Memis
Second place – Color Marker Rendering awarded to Rick Gando
Second place – Structure-Making Contest awarded to Edwin Lucin, Kevin Silorio and Cheyenne Lopez
Third place – Arki-Quiz Bee awarded to Leigh Margareth Lagrimas and Rhea Mae Dicen
Third place – Petite Area C Environmental Fashion Show awarded to Cheyenne Lopez
Third place – Best Fashion Designer awarded to Von Jovi Biala
