Admission and Registration
REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION . Foundation University opens its doors to all qualified students desiring to obtain education and requires all of them to be serious and consistently diligent in their work. Once admitted, they must show satisfactory performance in their schoolwork to be eligible for retention. A student who gets 5.0 / WD or Inc. in fifty (50) per cent of his academic load in each semester for the last two semesters he was enrolled in Foundation University shall be placed on academic probation. Such student cannot carry more than fifteen (15) units subject load the following semester and should pass all his subjects. Those who continue to show lack of interest in their studies and who make no earnest efforts to improve themselves are denied readmission after a semester’s probation.
ADMISSION TO COLLEGE DEPARTMENTS . Admission to the University may be affected in any of the following ways:
1. By presentation of Form 138, if the student is entering for the first time in a four-year degree course or in a two-year non-degree course;
2. By transfer from a college or university of recognized standing, in which case the student must present a certificate of transfer credential or honorable dismissal and an official transcript of records, valid for transfer from college or university last attended.
Under no circumstances will a student suspended or dismissed from another school for just cause be admitted.
Applicants who are employed are admitted on a reduced load of not more than 15 units a semester.
ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS. All incoming freshmen must take the College English Proficiency Test (CEPT) and the College Mathematics Proficiency Test (CMPT). Incoming freshmen for the nursing program have to take the College Science Proficiency Test (CSPT), and an I.Q. Test in addition to the CEPT and CMPT examinations. The result of these exams will determine the students’ placement in English, math and science classes.
REGISTRATION. After an applicant has taken the entrance examinations, he proceeds, in sequence, to the following sections or to the follwing persons:
a) Admissions section, where he fills out a registration form and gets entrance exams result.
b) Business and Finance Office where he pays a fixed downpayment;
c) Registrar’s Office where he gets his student I.D.;
d) NSTP Registration section where he has his MS or CWS enrollment;
e) Class registration section, where he is assisted by class and/or subject advisers with regard to his study load and schedule;
f) College Encoder who provides him a printed copy of his class and payment schedule.
g) College Validating Officer who receives his accomplished Registration Form.
(IMPORTANT: The student-registrant must leave the registration form mentioned in (a) above with the College Validating Officer. The consequence of not doing this is serious.)
REFUND OF FEES. Within three weeks after the Official First Day of Classes refund may be given to students under the following condtitions:
a) Students who withdraw within 24 hours from the Official First Day of Classes will be refunded all amounts paid minus a service fee of P100.00
b) Students who withdraw within 7 calendar days from the Official First Day of Classes will be refunded all amounts paid minus a service fee of P200.00.
c) Students who withdraw within 14 calendar days from the Official First Day of Classes will be refunded all amounts paid minus a service fee of P400.00.
d) Students who withdraw after 14 calendar days from the Official First Day of Classes until the first Day of the Term A Preliminary Exam Period, will be refunded all amounts paid minus a service fee of P1,000.00.
