TRAINING FOR LEADERSHIP. The Foundation University program of education is a categorical denial of the theory that book study alone can make the man, nay the leader of men. Foundation University provides opportunities for the development of leaders through participation in a wide variety of campus activities. Foundation University believes that self-expression is attained through student organizations, and that quality of leadership is often brought out in well-planned extra curricular and group work.

Among the principal student organizations are the Student Government, Ladies Circle, Political Science-History Society, Bio- Science Society and the Honor Society. Social activities vary from intramurals, folk dancing feasts, parties and outings, to the University Annual Kasadyaan Festival.

The University provides students ample opportunity to develop and put to test, their initiative, resourcefulness, creativity, and imagination. The University encourages worthwhile activities initiated and organized by individual students, classes and campus organizations. These activities include among others special convocations, debates, quiz bowls, open forums, symposia, campus fairs, and other contests.

STUDENT PUBLICATION. Students are afforded opportunity of learning newspaper writing and editing by the publication of Foundation Time, The Bloom and the Law Journal. The first is the official organ of the student body of Foundation University. The Bloom is a high school publication while the Law Journal is the law students’ publication. More importantly, these publications are intended as vehicle for students’ opinions, independent research studies and creative thinking.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION. Physical Education is an integral part of the curriculum. The program of the University in this respect is inspired by the idea that the moral, economic and social strength of the people depend very much upon their physical health and vigor. Special talents in athletics are discovered and developed.

MILITARY EDUCATION. The Philippines is committed to the plan of establishing a citizens army. Military Education is offered as a means of training the youth for this service and as a supplemental way of character-building. Accordingly, Foundation University maintains ROTC and CAT units and has adopted a program designed to prepare students for military service, civic welfare or law enforcement service and to develop in them love of courage, discipline and sense of self-sacrifice.
