The School of Industrial Engineering offers a five-year program in Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE), two-year courses in Certificate in Electrical Technology (CET) and Associate in Industrial Chemistry (AIC), and a one-year course in Refrigeration and Air-conditioning (RAC). All programs are recognized by the government of the Philippines. The BSIE program is accredited with the Philippine Association of Accrediting Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) with Level II Re-accredited status.
Bachelor of Industrial Engineering (BSIE) Program
Industrial Engineering is the disciplined, systematic, and holistic approach on the management of human resources, equipment, materials, capital, energy, information, and its environment. It covers three major areas of study namely; Production and Operations Management, Operations Research or Management Science, and Human Factors Engineering or Ergonomics. It seeks to design and/or improve systems to achieve maximum efficiency, effectiveness, quality, and investment return; minimum waste, losses, and costs; improve employee satisfaction, welfare, and performance; manage impact of business operations in its environment.
Careers in Industrial Engineering
Industrial Engineers plan, design, and supervise the installation of operational systems. Industrial Engineering is practiced in all kinds of endeavors such as industry, service business, government, health care, education and military and in levels of an organization such as production, marketing, procurement, personnel, and product design.
Job Titles and Functions
In the organizational setting, a graduates of the of the industrial engineering program can assume any of the following job titles and/or functions: industrial engineer, production control, quality assurance, marketing/sales, procurement, product design, manufacturing engineer, process/systems analyst, project engineer /manager.
Certificate in Electrical Technology (CET) and Refrigeration and Air-conditioning (RAC) Programs
The CET and RAC programs train students to become competent in the field of building wiring installation, motor rewinding and repair, as well as the basics of refrigeration and air-conditioning installation and repair.
The graduates of the CET program work as electricians, motor repair shop technicians, and air-con installation and repair technicians.
