University Supply Center
The University Supply Center is located at the second floor of the Community Center, University Main Campus. There are souvenir items, farm and poultry products and RTW uniforms. Open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Weekdays) and 8 a.m.-12 nn (Saturdays)
University Bookstore
The University Bookstore is located at the second floor of the Community Center. In stock are numerous titles of books in both hard and soft covers, new and used, and a wide variety of school supplies. Open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Weekdays) and 8 a.m.-12nn (Saturdays).
Information and Bulletin Board
The Information and Bulletin Boards are available around the main and north campuses of the university. Boards display information concerning school events, such as convocation, cultural forensic and sports activities, plays, concerts and dances. Prior approval from the Office of the Vice President for Student Life and External Affairs located at the first floor of the Administration Building is required before posting.
Career Information Center
The Career Information Center is located in the Guidance and Counseling Office. The Center delivers in the areas of career education. Though this various programs offered by the center, students can further develop and enhance their career goals and plans towards the achievement of rewarding career lifestyle and job. Information, career and job opportunities are also made available to students and graduates of the University.
Guidance and Counseling Services
The Guidance and Counseling office located at the first floor of the Administration Building provides the appropriate developmental, preventive and remedial guidance and counseling programs and services that can respond to the needs of the community especially those of the students. Specifically, the office seeks to facilitate students awareness and understanding of their artistic, emotional, interpersonal, intellectual, political, and physical development; help students cope with their personal and academic and career needs or problems, assists the community, especially the faculty and administration, in improving the learning environment of the community. The Guidance and Counseling office is usually open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
Health Services
The University Clinic, staffed by two (2) physicians, a dentist and two (2) full time nurses provides first aid, consultations and medications for common ailments. The Medical staff also conducts individual physical examination for all new students. The clinic located at the first floor of the Engineering Building, is open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 12 nn on Saturdays.
Film Program
The James B. Hearing Audio Visual Room and four other audio visual rooms are equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment for film showing that supplement classroom learning. With prior permission and arrangement, student may use the facility for educational and recreational film showing purposes. The University also has a program called the Greyhounds Sinepak for students on Friday nights where commercial movies are shown to the university community for relaxation purposes. Forms for use of the AVR are available at the Office of Student Life and External Affairs.
Scholarships
There are numerous scholarships available to deserving students in the university. Various scholarships includes:
ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP – granted to those who do exceptionally well in their academic requirements. Information and application forms are available at the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, 2nd floor of the Administration building.
WORK SCHOLARSHIP – given to poor but deserving students who are assigned as student assistants in various departments and offices. Interviews and apprenticeships are done every summer. Submit all applications to the Office of the Vice President for Student Life and External Affairs, 1st floor of the Administration building.
CO-CURRICULAR SCHOLARSHIP – given to qualified students who do exceedingly well as members of the college varsity teams, dance troupe, band and choral groups. Financial assistance are also given to members of the university Corp of Usherettes. Information is available at the Office of Student Life and External Affairs, 1st floor of the Administration building.
FUNDED SCHOLARSHIP – Donated by various generous benefactors of the University for specific program offerings of the university that can be availed of by Junior students who do well academically in their respective majors. Application forms and information are available at the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, 2nd floor of the Administration building.
GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP – Given by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to poor but deserving students who will enroll in any accredited programs of the university. Information is available at the Office of the Dean of Admissions and Records, 1st floor of the Engineering building. PLAN AHEAD: Students are enjoined to verify the requirements needed in the application for scholarship at the earliest possible time. Forms must be accomplished early and submitted for appropriate action. There is no substitute to planning ahead. KEEP ACCURATE RECORDS: Proof of one’s inability to pursue a college education without financial assistance from the University is a prerequisite. Such certification must be properly and correctly documented.
Food Services
The University Cafeteria offers a variety menu selections, and is open from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays; and from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturdays. The University Cafeteria is located at the ground floor of the Community Center.
Insurance
An accident insurance plan is available for students upon enrollment in the University.
Learning Center
The Learning Center provides free individual and group tutorial services to students of the University. This Center can be found in your respective College Deans Offices.
Library
The Foundation University Library offers academic library resources and services, which cover all the university’s curricular offerings and instructional programs. There is a three-storey library available for undergraduate and graduate students and an air-conditioned library for law students located at the College of the Law and Jurisprudence building. University Library endeavors to provide and maintain a strong collection, capable of supporting the instructional, research and other bibliographical needs of both students and faculty. The Library has a collection of more than 30,000 volumes, close to 2,000 titles of graduate and undergraduate theses, documents and pamphlets, and special research materials. Museo de Vicente Sinco
The Dr. Vicente G. Sinco Memorabilia contains several of the founder’s works and writings. Students and visitors may also see several photographs of the late Dr. Sinco in his travels here and abroad. It also maintains a good collection of university memorabilia, numismatics, artworks mostly by local artists and museum artifacts. It is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Mondays to Fridays.
Disciplinary Board
The Disciplinary Board is available to help resolve cases involving students of the University. The Vice President for Student Life and External Affairs sits as Chairman of the Board. He investigates complaints, report findings, and prepares the appropriate recommendation. He acts as the intermediary between the faculty, students and administration when problems arise. Athletic Facilities
Our strong sports program and activities are supported by outstanding athletic facilities including an indoor and outdoor volleyball courts, a basketball gymnasium, playing fields for football and a well-equipped weight room for athletes and students.
Parking
Students may have parking privileges at the designed “FU students parking”. The parking areas are infront of the main and north campuses. At the main campus, minimal parking fee is charged to all vehicles. A vehicle owner may opt to avail of the one year parking privileges at reasonable cost. Parking stickers are available at the Business and Finance Office, 1st floor of the Engineering building.
Performing Arts
The University provides many opportunities for participation in the performing arts beyond the classroom. The University and campus organizations regularly present cultural, literary, forensic and dramatic shows. Competition in oratory, oral interpretations, expository speaking, and debate among the students are also conducted. Musicians can find instrumental and vocal groups in the university to meet their artistic needs.
Publications
Foundation University produces enough publications. There is the bi-weekly Foundation Time, the students-staffed newspaper, the alumni newsletter- “BINHI”, the university yearbook PILLAR, as well as other publications produced by the colleges intended to inform the University community, to present opinions and to share creative efforts.
Ladies Circle
The Ladies Circle is the university organization comprising all female students as members. It offers a resource service on many issues especially those that concern women.
Bus Service
Transportation may be available by students for field trips, excursions, seminars and tours. Arrangement and reservation may be made through the Office of the Property Custodian located at the Museo de Vicente Sinco.
Speech Laboratory
Precision and accuracy in vocalization, pronunciation, and public speaking skills can be developed by the use of the high-tech equipment available at the laboratory. Located at the 1st floor of the L.G Sinco Information Technology building.
Internet and Computer Service
Students and faculty members may avail of various computer service needs at the 2nd floor of the L.G Sinco Information Technology building. Service Hours: Monday to Friday – 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday – 8 a.m. to 12 noon
Cisco Networking Academy
Foundation University teamed with Cisco Systems, Inc., the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet this academic year, to become the only Local Cisco Networking in the Province. The Networking Academy program employs an e-learning model, using a combination of web-based, instructor led learning and hands-on design, build and maintain computer networks of local, national and global business. Upon successful completion of the program and final examination, graduates of the course will earn the Cisco Networking Certificate that is recognized worldwide that will provide the graduates with excellent opportunities for his/her future. Greyhound Power 101.3FM
The University’s FM Campus Radio Station can be heard over the airwaves from 6am to 10pm. Tune-in to 101.3fm and hear the latest happenings and news on campus and hear your favorite music on the air. Located at the 4th floor of the Education Building. Submit all press releases, announcements and news to the Office of the Student Life and External Affairs, 1st floor of the Administration building.
