Foundation University Summer Sports Program, through the Institute for Youth Sports for Peace (IYSP), has drawn budding athletes and sports enthusiasts again this year with a total of 138 enrollees for the first batch, which commenced last May 1.
Aside from specialized training on different skills in sports such as basketball, volleyball, badminton and football, the program is also aimed at inculcating team spirit, proper values and positive playing attitude among promising athletes and sports enthusiasts from the grassroots level.
The sports camps’ goals are not only focused on learning the rules of the game and proper training but is geared towards developing the whole person while instilling the value of discipline to the young participants.
The second batch of participants to join the Summer Sports Camp begins on May 17-21, at the Robinson’s Place Dumaguete Main Atrium for the basic fundamentals of the above mentioned sports programs. Advanced skills training will be at the Greyhound Garden from May 22 – 27, 2017.
Foundation University’s pursuit towards excellence in the aspect of sports, health and wellness is expressed through the establishment of the Institute of Youth Sports for Peace, the sports development arm of the institution.
