A film by a recent graduate of the Broadcast Communication program at Foundation University bagged a special award at the Kota Kinabalu International Film Festival 2017 (KKIFF`17) held last July 7 to 16 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.
“Tubod,”by Geraldine Acibron was given the Special Mention Award in the narrative category during the awards night of the KKIFF’17, which is part of the Kota Kinabalu Arts Festival.
The said film featured the local talents of Mabinay, Negros Oriental, the budding filmmaker’s place of origin.
Acibron was among those young and talented film makers from the entire ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Region who were recognized for their skill and talent in the art of filmmaking.
Just recently, the same film along with other two films from FU also qualified for the final screening of Cinema Rehiyon 9 held August 22 to 29 at Nabunturan, Compostella Valley.
FU Broadcast Communication program has adjusted its curriculum to the changing needs of the media industry shown through an innovative pedagogy and training for students to compete with the current market trends and demands.
