Foundation University recently signed a memorandum of agreement with Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA), a government office tasked with promoting and converging volunteering efforts and different volunteerism programs in the country.
PNVSCA works closely with governmental agencies, NGOs, corporate groups and academic bodies to oversee national volunteer service programs, and strategize policy formulations to ensure that volunteer efforts align with the country’s broader development goals.
As an institution committed to civic engagement and the virtues of social responsibility, Foundation University recognizes the instrumental contribution that PNVSCA provides in expanding opportunities for meaningful volunteer participation, and acknowledges their role in realizing mainstreaming efforts of volunteerism in the campus. The memorandum of agreement establishes the integration of civic initiatives in Foundation University’s departments, as well as external collaborations with other parties that extend volunteer programs beyond local communities.
University President Victor Vicente “Dean” G. Sinco signed the memorandum with the presence of the University Chancellor Dr. Charlotte V. Carino, Professional Resources Management Director Dr. Lucelle E. Saguban, and Greyhound Innovations Director Cyril Mapula. On the boardroom monitor, PNVSCA Executive Director Donald James D. Gawe, CESO III signed the other half, with Division Chief Ela Victoria Sarmago as his witness.
Foundation University looks forward to a lasting partnership with PNVSCA, and envisions a fruitful spirit of volunteerism among its students, faculty and staff.
